Grant Elementary

The Willoughby-Eastlake School District contacted Snider Recreation in the spring of 2016 with a dream for a new playground. They submitted for the “Spring into Action” Grant, while Snider Recreation worked to create a playground design that would get the students active in their play!

Here at Snider Recreation, we believe in the importance of play for all ages and abilities. That is why we are proud to assist organizations with all-inclusive playgrounds and acquiring playground grants.  According to Action for Healthy Kids, “Recess allows children to release energy and reduce stress which also may improve attention and reduce disruptive behavior in the classroom”.

The design chosen by Grant Elementary has their students spinning, sliding, and climbing their way to play! The play structure brings slides and lots of them – the Triple Viper, Double Poly Wave, and a Spiral Slide. Also designed into the structure are activity panels and a Fierce Cyclone Spinner. Climbing mountains bring the structure to life along with the Rock, Tangle, Power Pipes, Rockit, Centipede, and Wiggle Ladder Climbers.  Sitting a safe distance away from the main structure is a climbing “mountain” for those who want to keep their feet off the ground!  To add a little more air to the playground, the new Volito swing was added alongside the existing bays of swings.
